In-App Prompt
Riders had an interactive map, routing them efficiently and safely to their destination, while also providing useful data and information about their surroundings. With geofences, we could route riders safely away from dangerous, sensitive, or high traffic areas. The system encouraged users to park devices neatly and keep sidewalks clean and safe with “reward parking zones". Bolt’s next generation e-scooters, the ”Bolt Two”, came with a built-in wireless smartphone charger powered by the e-scooter’s sustainable, swappable batteries. The Bolt Two was in operation in Miami, FL, where Bolt was headquartered.
Navigation System
The navigation system was created with Waze, Google Maps, and Apple Maps as key influencers. The user would be using this feature while their phone is locked into the charging system that is located on top of the scooter by the handlebars. Considering that, the features had to be visible from that point of view—especially while driving the scooter. The different geofences that create reward zones, restricted zones, and slow zones for the user also had to be clearly visible to keep in ordinance with city regulations.
